Your dignity is tied to your work. No man is regarded as a responsible fellow if he does not work. Idleness is a breeding ground for poverty; no man can escape poverty by being idle. Though the grace of God enlists you in the kingdom but you can only make your mark by your work.
1 cor. 15:10 – But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Grace multiplies when you work. If you want to see a man who grace works for, look for a man that is working. There is no substitute for work. Even when you are guided by God, you don’t have the guarantee to be blessed if you refuse to work in the place where God has guided you to.
The grace of God is a compliment to work and not a substitute; so also is divine guidance. Scriptural principles don’t have substitutes; they all work together in a synergy. If you work and don’t give, your blessing cannot be complete and if you are a giver but don’t work, the blessing cannot also be complete. All principles have to be put together. Therefore, with divine guidance and the grace of God bestowed on you, you must work if you want to succeed in life.
Gen.1:1 – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Work began with God Himself. God created the heaven and the earth; the heaven and earth did not just come into existence by themselves. If the Almighty God Himself can work, why will you not work?
John 9:4 – I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Jesus Christ also demonstrated the importance and dignity in working by making work mandatory. Work is a mental or physical movement or drive towards achieving your purpose in life. Through the work of God, the earth which was without form and void became beautiful.
Rev.3:8a – I know thy works…
God recognizes you on the account of your work according to the above scripture. Everyone God used in the bible was picked at the place of his work. God found Moses at the place where he was diligently caring for his father-in-law’s cattle. From rearing cattle, God made him a pastor of 3million people.
Gideon was in the farm when God called him. Elisha was in the field working when Elijah cast his mantle on him. Think about David who was anointed at the place of his work. God have great respect for those that work. Therefore, if you want to be recognized and lifted by God, you must work. Start from somewhere no matter how small and then God will lift you up in the name of Jesus Christ –Amen.
God bless you
